About the Photographer

Tim, is an artist who has exhibited internationally. After graduating with an M.A in painting from the Royal College of Art he went on to establish himself as a photographer, covering a wide range of disciplines including fashion, portrait, reportage and film stills before working freelance for national papers as a photojournalist.

Tim’s style of wedding and celebration photography is the result of 13 years of experience working with images and light.

‘With regards to my style of working with images in post-production . . . I believe we are moving through a time where digital manipulation has become a trend. However as with all trends . . . Here today and gone tomorrow. When I photograph a wedding I aim to get the best photographs on the day that do not need to be touched up or enhanced, other than employing some minor dodge and burn (lightening and darkening the image). This means that the images of your wedding day will be of the highest quality for generations to come.’- Tim James

Testimonial: ‘We were looking for an accomplished photographer that had experience of doing natural, reportage style shots for our wedding day. When we met Tim for an initial chat we were struck by his knowledge, artistic abilities and friendliness. He went the extra mile for us by coming to view the venues and was also very clear in his instructions so we knew exactly what to expect on the day itself.  On the day he was unobtrusive whilst being direct when he needed to be (managing group shots with children etc!) The final results are absolutely stunning and totally surpassed our expectations – they are beautiful, stylish images but most importantly they captured the essence of the day perfectly. We would not hesitate to recommend Tim to any couple that would like a lasting reminder of their wedding day.” – Corinne and Sam Thomas
